Exergoeconomic Analysis of an Integrated Solar Combined Cycle in the Al-Qayara Power Plant in Iraq

Enhancing the sustainability and diversification of Iraq’s electricity system is a strategic objective. Achieving this goal depends critically on increasing use renewable energy sources (RESs). The significance developing solar-powered technologies becomes essential at point. Iraq, similar to other places with high average direct normal irradiation, good location for concentrated solar thermal power (CSP) technology. This study aims recover waste heat from gas turbine cycle (GTC) in Al-Qayara plant Iraq integrate it tower. A thermoeconomic analysis has been done support installation an integrated combined (ISCC), which uses tower results indicate that examined total capacity 561.5 MW, 130.4 MW due recovery G.T.s, 68 MW. CSP. Due GTC, exergy efficiencies increase by 10.99 10.61%, respectively, overall unit cost production 11.43 USD/MWh. For ISCC, 17.96 17.34%, 12.39 cycle’s lowest monthly was about 539 September, while its highest approximately 574.6 April.
